The north of Morazán offers a wide variety for eco-tourism activity, given the richness and diversity of it´s natural resources: rivers, forests and bountiful plant and animal life.  Temperate year-around weather conditions create an excellent atmosphere for enjoying the outdoors.

 

 For those visitors looking for the cultural and historical aspects, Morazán offers the PEACE ROUTE , a series of small towns that still conserve important pockets of indigenious population that carry out their daily activities much like their ancestors.  Among these towns, Cacaopera and Guatajiaguastand out with their rich tradition in sisal spinning and pottery.

Perquín and the outlying areas have optiman conditions for the extreme sports, such as  MotoCross and Mountain Biking.

 

 

 

 

 

One of the principal attractions of the region is the memory of the recent civil conflict, which took place in El Salvador during the 80s.  The Museum of the Salvadoran Revolution is a must-see for those interested in the subject.
